About

The Krassenstein brothers—Brian and Ed Krassenstein (born April 12, 1982)—are American political commentators, authors, entrepreneurs, and prominent social media personalities. They became widely known as major figures in the online "Resistance" movement opposing Donald Trump.

Background & Early Ventures

Education: Born and raised in Somers Point, New Jersey, the twin brothers graduated from Rutgers University in 2004 with degrees in economics.

LEarly Internet Business: Long before entering mainstream political commentary, they ran various online forums and internet communities starting in the early 2000s, including financial and investing discussion boards like TalkGold and MoneyMakerGroup.

Federal Investigation: In 2017, their homes and business operations were raided by the Department of Justice amid allegations that their forums facilitated high-yield investment schemes linked to wire fraud. The brothers denied knowing the sites were used for illegal scams and were never criminally charged, though they agreed to a civil asset forfeiture of $450,000.

Other Projects: They also co-founded 3DPrint.com, an additive manufacturing news resource, which they later sold in 2015.

Rise to Prominence on Social Media

"Resistance Twitter": During Donald Trump's first presidential term, the brothers amassed massive followings on Twitter (now X) by aggressively and rapidly replying to nearly all of Trump's posts, becoming polarizing fixtures of anti-Trump digital activism.

2019 Ban and 2022 Reinstatement: In May 2019, Twitter permanently banned both brothers, citing violations of rules regarding operating fake accounts and purchasing engagement. Following Elon Musk's acquisition of the platform and subsequent policy shifts, their accounts were reinstated in December 2022.

Modern Media Work

Today, the Krassensteins continue to operate left-of-center news and political commentary sites, author newsletters, and maintain a high-volume presence across social media platforms discussing U.S. politics, elections, and digital culture.
